Lauren Lassila, of Hollis, rests on a mountain top on her school orientation trip to the White Mountains. Students in grades 6, 7 and 8 at Applewild School in Fitchburg, Mass., take orientation trips at the beginning of each school year. Sixth grade goes to Chewonki Camp in Wiscasset, Maine; seventh-graders go to the White Mountains AMC facilities; and eighth-graders travel to Washington D.C., for the week. Lauren said she enjoyed her time in the White Mountains with her classmates.
