Brookline Safety Complex nears completion

Friday, February 22, 2013

BROOKLINE – With most of the structural work completed, the tasks of finishing the new home for Brookline’s Police Department have begun.

Mudding of drywall is nearly complete, and painting has begun with a seal coat on the unfinished expansion space on the second floor. Five kinds of insulation address a variety of needs, including sound barriers between rooms, firewall protection in specified areas, and attic insulation greater than R-38.

Cabinet work has been prepared off site and is ready to be installed.

Accommodations are under way to make the current ambulance meeting room available for public use. The project remains on schedule, and the Police Department is beginning to lay out plans for a move to its new quarters.
