Students finalists in speech contest

Eighth graders Annalise Groves of Hollis and Ryan Quinlan of Amherst are two of the ten finalists in the Eleanor Crow Public Speaking Competition held at Applewild School in Fitchburg, Mass. The speech award is given to the best speech writer and presenter in Grade 8 and is announced at graduation in June. This year’s theme for the speeches was “This I Believe”. Anna’s speech was entitled “Enjoying Those Around You” and Ryan’s title was “The Power of Work Ethic.”
