GIRLS BASKETBALL

Jan. 27: HB 59, Hanover 52

The Cavaliers upset the Marauders behind 16 points from Bri Hackett and 11 from Lindsey Beauregard. Kristin Johnson added seven points and grabbed a team-high 10 rebounds while Jenna Hyatt and Michaela Dowling combined for 10 points and 14 boards.

WRESTLING

Jan. 23: Exeter 37, HB 29

The Hollis Brookline wrestling team suffered their first loss of the season on Thursday, after losing to a strong Division I Exeter team their record now stands at 6-1. Securing pins for the Cavaliers were Caleb Lomme (160), Kayne Robert (195), and Chris Lazich (220).

BOWLING

Jan. 25: Keene 1,572,
Merrimack 1,569, HB 1,538

Merrimack and Keene battled through a hard-fought best-of-three Baker series, in which Merrimack posted a 206-202 victory. A key strike in the ninth frame of the rubber match by Parker O’Brien and two clutch strikes (double) by Zack Amodio gave Merrimack the victory.

The top bowlers for Merrimack were Amodio (379), Ethan Brodell (345) and O’Brien (316). For Hollis Brookline, the top bowlers were Austin Piggot (350), Joe Spohn (333) and Steven Glover (297).

BOYS SKIING

Jan. 23: Derryfield 382,
HB 366, Milford 361, Souhegan 357

The Cavs were led by Paul Menard, who secured second place after posting a time of (1:13.47) and Luke Martin who placed fifth in (1:15.07). Souhegan’s Trevor Brown took third place in the race with a time of (1:13.58). Lastly, Milford’s Jimmy and David Spalding finished in sixth and eighth respectively with times of (1:15.83) and (1:16.36).

GIRLS SKIING

Jan. 23: Souhegan 385, Derryfield 367, HB 366

Winning the event was Souhegan’s Rhiannon Allison with a time of (1:16.26). The Sabers also had a trio of skiers finish in the top 10, as Anna Farrow (1:19.46), Alana Barretto (1:19.71), and Samantha Prue (1:20.06) placed fifth, sixth, and seventh. For Hollis Brookline, Skyler Anderson finished in third place with at time of (1:18.48).

TRACK

Jan. 25: Cavs run at UNH

Greater Nashua was well represented at UNH on Saturday afternoon, as local boys and girls had many first-place finishes.

For the boys, Hollis Brookline’s Christian Parenteau won the 300 meters in a time of 39.40. In the 600 and 1,000, Bishop Guertin’s Christopher Arling (1:27.90) and Tyler McLaren (2:42.10) both claimed first place. And in the high jump, Nashua South’s Olson Christopher won with a jump of (5-4).

For the girls, the Hollis Brookline 4x400m relay team and the 4x800 relay team both won, while the Bishop Guertin 4x160 relay team also claimed first place. Danielle Poublon (4-10) and Briana Silck (16-4) of Bishop Guertin won the high jump and long jump respectively. Nashua South’s Megan Cunningham won the shot put with a put of 31-5.
