BOYS BASKETBALL

Jan. 31: HB 62,
Oyster River 44

Hollis Brookline came out of the half playing solid defense, limiting Oyster River to only three points in the third quarter en route to an easy victory. The Cavaliers established an early 14-2 lead before Oyster River responded with a 13-2 run. HB entered the half leading by three before coming out strong for the third quarter. Dan Bentall led Hollis Brookline with 16 points. Logan Blake added 13 points, while Matt Fothergill also reached double figures with 11.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Feb. 4: HB 65, Pelham 41

Freshman Cassandra Stapelfeld scored 19 points while Bri Hackett added 15 as the Cavaliers improved to 5-6, outscoring Pelham 26-13 in the second quarter to take control.

WRESTLING

Jan. 29: HB 45,
Goffstown 27

The Hollis Brookline wrestling team improved their overall record to 7-1 with their win over Goffstown. Securing pins for the Cavaliers were Christian Lopez (145), Ben Goodman (160), Andrew Butler (170), Travis Guthrie (195), and Chris Lazich (220).

BOWLING

Feb. 1: HB places second

Hollis Brookline had a convincing victory over Raymond, but lost close matches to Keene as it finished second in a four-team tournament.

Keene won the tourney, while Raymond finished third and Sanborn fourth. Steven Glover led the way for HB, bowling a 205 and a 146. Joe Spohn also bowled well, finishing with a 137 and a 212.

SKIING

Jan. 31: HB boys finish 1st

Hollis Brookline boys took first place in Slalom in an eight-team meet at Sunapee Resort with strong and consistent skiing by Trevor Cooke (fourth), Paul Menard (fifth), Luke Martin (seventh), and Andy Cook (15th). HB was also first in the Giant Slalom, with a second place by Menard (1:07.94), followed by Martin in third (1:08:38), Andy Cook (11th), and Trevor Cooke (12th).

The HB girls were without captain Skye Anderson, who was injured on practice prior to the race, skied to a second-place finish in the Slalom, led by sophomore Ellie Caswell (10th), Maddy Cambray (11th), Emily Choate (12th), and Niti Suchdev (23rd). The girls then took third place in Giant Slalom, led by Caswell (10th), Courtney Ulrich (11th), Choate (14th), and Niti Suchdev (25th).
