HOCKEY

H/B Middle School hockey team upended by Londonderry 4 -3

H/B Middle School faced off against first-place Londonderry Middle School in what turned out to be a tightly contested and physical game.

The two teams traded goals through the first two periods with Londonderry holding onto a 3 -2 leading entering the third. H/B tied the game at 3 early in the third period and it remained that way with just under one minute to play when Londonderry scored the game-winning goal.

Leading the offense for H/B was Cam Ricard, who scored all three goals, his fourth hat trick in as many games. Also contributing to a solid offense showing were Dan Ash, Brett Pearson and Kyle Rogers. Anchoring the defense for H/B was Ian McNamara, Tom Johnson and Mitchell Young. Travis Howard had another solid game between the pipes.

Hollis Cavaliers Pee Wee 2

The Cavs moved into second place in tier 5 by going 1-0-1 this week in Granite State play.

A 1-1 tie Saturday against Lebanon was a very defensive game, led by goalie Nick Hebert, with the lone goal from Gordon Sears assisted by John McPartlan.

The second game was a 6-3 win over Henniker, perhaps the best complete game of the season starting with the core defense of James Young and Alex Fagan. Evan Daskalos had two goals and John McParlan an assist.

The strong aggressive skating and body checking form Ian Birmingham & Nick Sengstaken broke the game open. Other goals coming from Dalton Doire (two goals, one assist), Cameron Boisvert (one goal, one assist) and Devin Brickett (one goal, two assists). Also recording assists were Troy Thirkell and Tyler Roberge.

A Dual State game against Billerica, Mass., was a 3-2 win. This was a full team effort with goals from Tyler Gouveia (two) and Gordon Sears (one goal, one assist) with other assists going to Cameron Boisvert (two).
