GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
Sept. 22: HB runs at
Manchester Invitational
The Hollis Brookline girls finished fourth in the girls large school race at the Manchester Invitational.
Emma Newton led the way, finishing third over all in 19:41, while Meghan Philpot was eight with a time of 19:50. Emily Benz came in 25th (20:50) and Sarah Cramton was 72nd (22:12). Emily Babcock rounded out the top five for HB, finishing 90th (22:27).
Sept. 25: HB 21,
Portsmouth 36,
Sanborn NA
Emma Newton finished first overall in 20:40 and Megan Philpot came in second (20:56). Emily Benz was fourth (21:35) while Emile Newsham took sixth (22:27) and Haley Farwell finished eight (22:38).
BOYS CROSS COUNTRY
Sept. 22: HB runs at
Manchester Invitational
The Cavs game in 18th in the boys large school race, and Christian Parenteau led the way, finishing 32nd in 17:26. Matt Mailloux was 49th with a time of 17:43, while Cameron Jackson came in 96th (18:37). Jared Noftle was 114th (19:02) and Erik Chazin took 122nd (19:16).
Sept. 25: Portsmouth 22, HB 33, Sanborn 85
Christian Parenteau and Matt Mailloux finished third and fourth, respectively, in 17:41. Cameron Jackson took seventh (18:28) and Joe Flaherty finished ninth (19:02) while Sean Zapolski came in 10th (19:15).
FIELD HOCKEY
Sept. 21: St. Thomas 2, HB 0
Rachel Dunn had two saves in net for Hollis Brookline in the fist half, while Ashely Skey made two saves in the second half. Eve Lingaitis and Sam Musson both played well in the midfield.
Sept. 24: HB 1,
Milford 0 (OT)
Averill Erdody made 19 saves to help the Spartans get to overtime against the Cavaliers, but HB’s Sydney MacLeod scored three minutes in to get her team the win.
VOLLEYBALL
Sept. 24: Salem 3, HB 0
The Cavs fell to 4-4 in Division I, 25-14, 25-18, 26-24. Kenzie Whalen had six kills and three aces while Sav Werne added four kills and two aces and Kaitlyn Atkinson chipped in with three kills.
BOYS SOCCER
Sept. 21: HB 2,
Souhegan 2
Jake Laurent scored two goals to help the Cavs play to a tie. Andrew Cappetta added an assist while Mike Pattelena and Linds Cadwell split time in goal and combined for seven saves in net for the Cavs.
GOLF
Sept. 24: Cavs finsh third
HB recorded a 213 to finish behind St. Thomas (196) and Bishop Brady (209). Brian Thibodeau shot a 39, while Tim Rencken added a 41 and Jeremy Heard recorded a 42. Ryan Buckley shot a 45 and Jesse Farmer added a 46.
