WRESTLING
Jan. 2: HB 54, Con-Val 21
The Hollis Brookline wrestling team remained undefeated on the season with a win over the Con-Val Cougars. Gaining pins for the Cavaliers were Nathaniel Lindsay (120 pounds), Ryan Ahlquist (126), Kayne Robert (170), Austin Bumpus (182), Nate Ashe (195), Hunter Longland (220) and Hisham Hafez (285).
Jan. 5: HB finishes12th
LOCAL WINNERS: third place: Zach Jennings (145), Nate Ashe (195); fourth place: Andrew Butler (152); fifth place: Hisham Hafez (285); sixth place: (138). OTHER HIGHLIGHTS: Ryan Ahlquist (126) and Zach McPherson (132) also won matches.
HOCKEY
Jan. 3: HB 6,
Manchester West 1
The Cavs got goals from Cam Ricard (one assist), Ken Birch, Jack Shields, Kyle Stevens, Ian Rowe and Matt Mailloux to win their first game of the season. Tom Johnson and Gary Perison also had two assists each and Evan Russell also had a helper. Travis Howard made 20 saves.
Jan. 5: HB 10, Laconia 1
HB moved to 2-4 in Division III, getting goals from Cam Ricard (four, one assist), Tim Birch (three assists), Ian Rowe, Kyle Stevens, Will Holms, Jack Shields and Cassie Circelli. Travis Howard made 27 saves.
BOYS BASKETBALL
Jan. 4: HB 65, Con-Val 28
The Cavs outscored ConVal 26-5 in the first quarter, and never looked back. P.J. Flaum led all scorers with 17 points, including four 3-pointers, while Nick Noval and Logan Blake also finished in double-figures with 10 points apiece.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Jan. 4: HB 43, Con-Val 34
Erin Ackerley helped the Cavaliers to their fifth win of the season, securing 11 rebounds and scoring 11 points. Ellie Flaum added a team-high 18 points.

Jan. 5: Cavaliers
win tri-meet
TEAM SCORES: Hollis Brookline 122, 177, 172, Keene 140, 149, 113; Hollis Brookline 176, 153, Souhegan 135, 144. TOP LOCAL PERFORMERS: Hollis Brookline: Devin Fauteux 180, 158; Austin Piggot 123, 171; Tyler Martin 158, 145; Joe Spohn 144, 138.
TRACK
Jan. 5: Cavs do well
at six-team meet
The HB girls track team finished fourth in a meet at UNH, recording 47 points. Emma Newton finished first in the 600- and 1,500-meter runs to lead the Cavs. Also finishing first for the Cavs were Monica Zack, in the 55, and Emily Benz, in the 3,000. Meghan Philpot was second in the 1,000 and finished fifth in the 1,500, while Sarah Crampton came in third in the 3,000. Maria Eklund was fourth in the shot put while Samantha Slater was fifth and Amanda McDonough was sixth in the same event. The girls also finished fourth in the 4x400 relay.
The HB boys team came in sixth with 13 points. Christian Parenteau came in second in the 600, while the boys 4x160 relay team finished third.
SKIING
Jan. 4: Cavs finish well
The HB girls and boys Alpine ski teams finished third and fifth, respectively, in a meet at Crotched Mountain.
Skyler Anderson led the girls, finishing sixth, while Kelsey Tulley came in 11th and Emily Choate was 12th.
Pat Doyle came in fourth to lead the boys. Trevor Cooke finished 14th and Andrew Cappetta was 15th.
