Kudos to the Brookline Women’s Club that recently purchased a refrigerator for the Town Food Pantry. That was the club’s 2011-12 community service project and they deserve lots of praise.

And kudos, too, to volunteers from local snowmobile clubs who opened dozes of miles of trails here and in neighboring communities so that, if we ever get snow, snowmobilers, snowshoers and skiers have some place nearby to go.

Local organizations like these do great work all the time and often they do it without much notice. Certainly they do it without fanfare, somewhat loath to blow their own horns, so it’s nice when we get a chance to do it for them.

Regarding the snowmobile clubs, our Hattie Bernstein did a story for last week’s Hollis Brookline Journal.

In the case of the Women’s Club, the club submitted an article and photo that we were happy to run.

And that brings us to you and your local organization:

One of the great things about a local weekly newspaper like the Hollis Brookline Journal is our willingness, nah our desire, to print things that you send us. We just wish you would send us more.

Then, go to www.cabinet.com and find “Submit Your News.” Click on it and follow the directions. It’s quick, it’s easy and it will give your organization the credit it deserves.

Really, though, you can submit almost anything for our consideration. Suppose your Boy Scout troop took a trip into the White Mountains? We’d love to see some photos and a little piece on what they did.
