Students earn scholarships

HOLLIS – Laura Andreola, daughter of Christopher and Cynthia Andreola, and Alex Marinaccio, son of Todd and Karen Marinaccio, are the winners of the Hollis Woman’s Club annual $1,000 scholarships.

Andreola will attend Vanderbilt University, where she plans to major in education. While a student at Hollis/Brookline High School, she volunteered as the event chairman for the town’s annual Father-Daughter Dance. She is a member of the National Honor Society and a mentor in the Big Brothers Big Sisters Program. Andreola also works and volunteers at Partnership for Successful Living.

Marinaccio will attend the University of Edinburgh where he plans to major in international relations and politics. As a student at Hollis/Brookline High School, he was on the Executive Council of New Hampshire Boys State and is the recipient of their Leadership Award. He is a member of the National Honor Society and is a second-degree black belt in Kenpo Karate. In addition, Marinaccio works part time at Donelan’s Supermarket.

Krissy Wuerdeman, president of The Hollis Woman’s Club, presented the scholarships to the recipients at Awards’ Night at Hollis/Brookline High School on June 16. The club also presented class valedictorian, Sara Heard, with a gift certificate to Barnes and Noble.
