John R. Barnard

John R. Barnard, 79, a long time resident of Hollis, NH, and Kennebunkport, Maine, died Oct. 21, 2011 at Southern NH Medical Center.
Born on Nov. 5, 1931, in Cambridge, MA, John was a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Business School.
He served as an officer in the United States Navy with a home port of Newport, RI.
John and wife Hoppy spent their winters in Hollis and all of their summers in Kennebunkport, Maine where he was a vestry member of Saint Ann’s church of which he and Hoppy have attended for over 70 years.
John loved the ocean, his boat, his Great Danes, his beautiful flowers, his big old police horse Tucker, and his family.
John is survived by his wife Hoppy, daughter Natalie, son Jay, three grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be held this summer in Kennebunkport at St. Ann’s church at a date to be determined.
