Thursday, October 10, 2013
MILFORD – JP Pest Services will host a Lyme disease awareness event from 6-9 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 16, in Milford.
The event will include a group of expert panelists in different areas of the disease. Alan Eaton, entomologist at the University of New Hampshire, Kevin Moran, technical representative with Residex, Amy Hollengreen, veterinarian and owner of the Amherst Animal Hospital, and Gail Vanark, certified nurse practitioner at the Center for Preventative Medicine will make up the panel.
Speakers will address current Lyme topics and statistics and answer questions from the audience surrounding this controversial disease.
“We are very excited to be holding an event like this that is free to the public. I work with customers every day who are battling this disease and I see first-hand how devastating it can be,” said Matthew Fottler, mosquito and tick division manager for JP Pest Services. “We want to educate the community and open up our local Lyme network to provide people with educational resources. Education is the first line of defense.”
Special guest, Laura Piazza, Lyme patient and author of the cookbook “Recipes for Repair,” will cook a few of her signature dishes for everyone to sample throughout the evening.
Piazza’s cookbook is catered to the special dietary needs of Lyme sufferers and individuals who are striving for improved health.
This is a free event that is open to the public. It will be at the JP Pest Services Corporate Training Center, 34 Hammond Road, Milford.
Seating is limited for this event. Reserve your spot by calling JP Pest Services at 732-4393 or email events@jppest
