Learn about ice fishing at Milford presentation

MILFORD – Grab your hats and mittens, pull on your winter boots and meet the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department to learn about a fun winter activity – ice fishing. Instructors from Fish and Game’s “Let’s Go Fishing” Program will present a free three-week Saturday ice-fishing program in Milford on Jan. 28 and Feb. 4 from 1-4 p.m., and Feb. 11 from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. Participants are expected to attend all three sessions.
The class is open to anyone, however, those 16 and younger must be accompanied by an adult. Reserve your spot by contacting “Let’s Go Fishing” instructor Dale Riley daytime, Tuesday-Friday, at 673-2987 or evenings at 673-4036. The class is free, and registration is first-come, first-served. All equipment and materials will be provided. You do not need to have a fishing license to participate.
The first two sessions will be held at Riley Brothers Lumber at 39 Christmas Tree Lane in Milford, learning about ice fishing equipment, safety and practices, as well as introducing some winter ecology of lakes and ponds. On the last day (Feb. 11), participants will head out to a local pond and put their newly learned skills to the test.
