VFW hosts spouse benefits workshop

NASHUA – Do you know what benefits are available to you in the event your veteran spouse passes away? By being a veteran, your spouse may be qualified for benefits through the Veterans Administration and other agencies. VFW Post 483, 2 Quincy St., will offer a special training class for spouses of veterans covering benefits available and how to apply for them.
This special training class will be conducted by John Barrett, VFW state service officer. Barrett has worked with the Veterans Administration for many years and is familiar with the benefits and application procedures.
The class will be conducted from noon-2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, in the post hall. A light lunch will be provided.

The veteran is also encouraged to attend. You will be emailed a copy of the training program if you wish. Please bring it with you when you come. None will be mailed. Please bring a copy of the veteran’s DD214 (discharge) with you.
Parking is available across the street in the court house parking lot and the corner lot on Quincy and Pearl streets. The canteen entrance is handicapped accessible.
The veteran is not required to be a VFW member for the spouse to attend.
