2012 Fall Foliage Photo Contest winners announced
Thursday, November 22, 2012
For our 2012 Fall Foliage Photo Contest, 139 Cabinet Press readers submitted 236 photos.
In addition to falling leaves, water reflections, mountain scenes, farms in autumn, apple orchards and waterfalls, we received several photos of mushrooms, some growing along walls, some in gardens and as Ashley Cleveland, of Merrimack, described in her photo, a “Mushroom City.” We even received a photo from a New Hampshire visitor from Pittsburgh, Pa.
After careful consideration – and some oohs and aahs – here are the winners:
First place: Marie Fortin, of Mason, who captured Abbot Hill Road in Mason on a foggy morning.
Second place: Richard Rowe, of Merrimack, for his photo looking south over Profile Lake from the Old Man of the Mountain historic site in Franconia Notch State Park.
Third place: Sandy Dold of Merrimack, who created an orange ring of trees.
Our three winners will receive a gift certificate to Shorty’s Mexican Roadhouse.
Honorable mentions go to LeeAnn Vigeant, of Merrimack; Ethan Hagstrom, of Bedford; Ed Gaffny, of Bedford; Erin Hubbard, of Hollis; Danielle Curdo, of Merrimack.
Also to Gary Reynolds, of Merrimack; John Cartmill, of Bedford; Barbara Brown, of Lyndeborough; Judith Lougee, of Brookline; Lisa Carter, of Wilton; and Dan Forget, of Merrimack.
Thank you to all our readers for sharing their spectacular photos with us.
