Amherst library offers Shakespeare program

AMHERST – The Town Library will offer a two-part series called “Shakespeare’s Sonnets: Let Me Not…Admit Impediments,” starting on Friday, Feb. 1, and concluding on Friday, Feb. 15, featuring Harvard Prof. Theoharis C. Theoharis.
Part of the February program for adults entitled Speaking of Love, the series will include a reading of chosen sonnets and concentrate on love as an experience and love as an idea.
There is no required reading, yet people are welcome to check out one of the many collections of Shakespeare’s Sonnets that are on display at the library.
Theoharis has taught at Berkeley, MIT, and since 1985, at Harvard, where he is now an associate in the Department of Comparative Literature.
