Mom loved Santa Project presents

To to the editor:

The Lioness Club of Merrimack recently received this letter from a recipient of our Operation Santa Project and thought it would be nice to share the remarks with the Merrimack community to let them know how much their efforts were appreciated.

Dear Lioness Club,

What a wonderful Christmas my children had, thanks to all of you. I never expected that this year would be such a happy holiday, but when I received all of your generous gifts I knew that Santa had truly arrived.

The jackets are so warm and fit perfectly. My oldest daughter and son had been wearing last year’s coats, which were both worn and small. We had been convincing ourselves that they were “fine,” but we both knew better. They put the coats on and wore them outside that very day – and every day since then. What a bonus to have hats and scarves to go with them. The cute clothing outfits were just right. It means so much to have something new that looks so good and feels so comfortable; even the colors were great choices.

You can’t imagine how excited my son was to get the Batman toys. Superheroes are his specialty right now. The crafts will give us lots of play this winter and they help my middle daughter with some of her physical challenges. The DVD’s were a terrific choice, since we do a family movie night once a week. Now we have two new choices for our popcorn fest.

All in all, your club made the holiday so special for us and gave it the magic that all children picture for Christmas. It can’t be an easy thing to do, all that you do at such a busy time of year. Just know that it is appreciated more than you can imagine. Thank you so much.

Signed: A Grateful Mother.

A big “thank you” to all who took cards from our various trees and helped make Christmas special for those in need.
