Reader recommends school board candidates

To the Editor:

On April 13, please consider voting for Shannon Barnes and Chris Ortega for the Merrimack School Board.

I have worked with Shannon on two committees, and I know she takes her committee work seriously. She studies all sides of an issue, and attempts to find common ground between opposing viewpoints. I know that she cares deeply about our children’s education, and she will work hard to balance the needs of our students with the needs of the taxpayers.

In his work on the Budget Committee, Chris Ortega has proven that he is a respectful, level-headed committee member and I believe these qualities will make him an effective School Board member.

Shannon Barnes and Chris Ortega will be great additions to our school board. I hope you will join me in voting for them on April 13th.
