File for office before March 5

The filing period for candidates in Merrimack opened Wednesday, Feb. 24, and closes Friday, March 5, at 5 p.m.. Here is the list of open positions for the town and school district:

Town:

Two town council members, three-year terms

Two ethics committee members, three-year terms

One library trustee, three-year term

One trustee of trust funds, three-year term

One supervisor of the checklist, six-year term

One moderator, two-year term

One treasurer, two-year term

Candidates must file with the town clerk at Town Hall on Baboosic Lake Road to have their name placed on the ballot and must be a registered voter. Candidates for town council must have lived in Merrimack for at least a year.

School:

Two school board members, three-year terms

Two planning and building committee member, three-year terms

One planning and building committee member, one-year term

Four school district budget committee members, three-year terms

One moderator, three-year term

One district clerk, three-year term

One treasurer, three-year term

Residents who are registered voters may file at the superintendent’s office on McElwain Street.
