Race to the finish

Photo courtesy of Steve Wolfe. Some 50 racers scramble to get a good start during Sunday’s 7K snowshoe race at Horse Hill Nature Preserve. The race is the sixth of nine on the Granite State Snowshoe Series circuit. Jim Johnson, 32, of Salem, was the first man to cross the finish line with a time of 27 minutes, seven seconds. Ann Rasmussen, 46, of Plymouth, was the first woman to finish with a time of 33 minutes, 59 seconds.
