Tips from the ‘Gardening Guy’
Thursday, May 20, 2010
Henry Homeyer, the “Gardening Guy,” spoke to a full house of interested gardeners at the Merrimack Library on May 5 about how to create a 10- by 12-foot vegetable garden and maintain it in less than 15 minutes a day. Homeyer was able to present an entertaining and convincing argument in spite of the library being evacuated twice during the evening because of fire alarms. He calmly continued his talk on the hill outside the Library while the Merrimack Fire Department checked out the building, then finished with an informative slide show when all were allowed to return to the meeting room. Homeyer lives in Cornish Flat, and he is a popular gardening speaker, book author and a columnist for The Telegraph.
