Merrimack celebrates Winter Carnival
Friday, March 1, 2013
Merrimack’s 21st annual Winter Carnival attracted kids and their parents for snowmobile rides along a trail at Naticook Lake, while others dug holes in the ice, hoping to reel in the biggest catch of the day.
The Merrimack Sno-Buds snowmobile club provided the courtesy rides, and the Lions Club sponsored the annual Ice Fishing Derby – and members spent the afternoon measuring the ice fishermen’s catch, some topping 14 inches.
Local clubs and organizations were on hand to sell food, and some conducted demonstrations, including the Merrimack Police K-9 Gunny and the Independent Karate School.
The event was sponsored by the Merrimack Parks and Recreation Department, and the Parks and Recreation Committee.
