60 cases of food donated by YMCA to Nashua and Merrimack organizations

MERRIMACK – The YMCA of Greater Nashua is pleased to share that its food drive during the month of December has netted about 60 cases of food for local food pantries.

So far, food has been delivered to the Nashua Soup Kitchen and the Riverside Christian Church Food Pantry in Merrimack. Additional food deliveries will be made to St. John Neumann Food Pantry in Merrimack.

“Our members and staff have been so generous during this holiday season. We know that local food pantries have faced challenges keeping their shelves stocked this year, and are pleased that our donations will help those who are most needy in our community,” said Elizabeth Covino, YMCA director of community relations. “Our plan is to have two food drives each year. It’s not just during the holiday season when we can support local food pantries. One of the Y’s main focus areas is social responsibility and we consider our efforts to help ease the burden of local food pantries important to the work that we do in the community.”
