Y hosts triathlon for charity
The first Greater Nashua Y Tri presented by the YMCA of Greater Nashua and The Center for Physical Therapy and Exercise will be Sunday, June 20. Whether you’re a first time tri-athlete or a veteran you will enjoy the clean lake, rolling hills, smooth run, as well as hospitality and convenient race venue at Camp Sargent 141 Camp Sargent Road, Merrimack. You will also be racing to help good causes.
All proceed from the Greater Nashua YTri will benefit the YMCA of Greater Nashua Strong Kids Campaign and the Child Advocacy Center of Hillsborough County. All funds raised for the Strong Kids Campaign go directly to the Y-Cares program which allows children, families and senior in the community, who might not otherwise be able to have access to programs at the YMCA of Greater Nashua. All funds raised for the Child Advocacy Center supports child victims of crime through coordination of the criminal investigation and on-going support and services.
The swim is 0.3 miles, bike ride is 16 miles and the run is 3.1 miles. The race starts at 8 a.m.
Local traffic will be allowed on the race roads during the race. Police will monitor the crossing of all major roads and at other locations. In addition, police on motorcycles will monitor the bike route and escort the lead cyclist.
Only upright bikes are allowed in this race. Recumbent bikes or bikes with fairings will not be permitted to race.

Summer Basketball League signups
The Milford Summer Basketball League is adding a high school league for players who are currently freshmen, sophomores or juniors.
The league will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis with a maximum of 40 players. Games will be Mondays and Wednesdays. Sign-ups have been extended for another two weeks.

Catching camp for baseball and softball
The New England Catching Camp will have two weeks of camp to choose from. The four-day, 16 hour camps will be July 19-22 and Aug. 2-5. This camp draws baseball and fast pitch softball catchers from all over the country and is the only camp in New England exclusively for catchers.
NECC will be offering a session for the player’s ages 8-12 from 8 a.m.-noon and ages 13-18 will meet from 1-5 p.m. daily. The camp will be held at Lions Field in Hudson .
The sessions will include training on flexibility drills, receiving, blocking, throwing and all fielding skills.

Charity Golf Classic to benefit museum
The Children’s Museum of NH will hold its 24th annual Charity Golf Classic on Tuesday, June 15, at Cochecho Country Club in Dover. The tournament will be played in a scramble format with a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The registration fee of $150 includes 18 holes of golf and carts, a pre-tournament lunch and post-play cocktail hour in the clubhouse. The tournament will also feature team and individual prizes, a closest-to-the-pin prize, 50-50 raffle and a silent auction.
The Children’s Museum Charity Golf Classic is one of the museum’s most important fundraisers. Proceeds provide critical funds for programs that provide families in difficult circumstances, as well as outreach efforts to schools and social service agencies.
The lead sponsor for this year’s tournament is BID2WIN Software. The event’s cocktail party is sponsored by New Hampshire Distributors, and player packs are underwritten by Golf & Ski Warehouse.
