Help us find lower prices

Friday, November 18, 2011

A reader dropped by The Cabinet’s office on School Street in Milford last week to point out a disparity in the price of gasoline. He does a lot of driving for work around the state and noticed gas prices are considerably lower in Merrimack, sometimes by as much as 29 cents a gallon.

That, of course, comes to a $2.90 difference if you buy 10 gallons.

He wanted to know if other readers had seen similar differences in prices, and we told him that in Stratham, we recently had seen gas for $3.33 per gallon.

So, readers, what about you? Gas prices in our neck of the woods are about $3.45, which is much better than they were a few years ago, but not as good as we’d like, of course. To the average consumer, everything is always too costly.

But we’re curious: Have you seen lower gas prices in your travels? What were they, and where were they?

E-mail us at cabnews@cabinet.com or drop us a note or come on in.

Help us to help you

Recently we got a telephone voice mail message from a reader who wanted us to run a correction regarding her name, something we would have been happy to do.

But we couldn’t.

The caller spoke very quickly and we couldn’t understand her last name.

And she didn’t leave a telephone number, so we couldn’t call her back to check it.

So we never ran the information she had requested.

Please, when you call and leave a voice mail message, speak as clearly as possible and leave us a return phone number.

We want to respond, we will respond, but we can’t if we don’t know who you are.

And to businesses...

We have started a new feature called Business Bio and we hope you’ll participate. New business, established business, it doesn’t matter: We want to share your information with our readers.

It’s easy:

Just go to www.cabinet.com. Find the header Submit Your News. Under it, to the right, you’ll see “Business Bio.” Click on that, fill out the form, and submit. We’ll run the bios as we have space.
