Bride thanks Merrimack restaurant for wedding reception
Tuesday, November 1, 2011
To the Editor:
I wanted to write to you about my recent wedding reception experience. On Oct. 1, I married my best friend, Paul DeRubeis, and we had our wedding reception at Florence’s Italian Restaurant in Merrimack.
Who would have thought about having a reception at an Italian restaurant? Well, both Paul and I love their food and the atmosphere.
I knew they had a small function room that can hold 25-30 people, but we were planning on about 70 to attend. So we sat down with Florence and discussed our wedding vision. She was so excited that we desired to have our reception at her restaurant. She stated she had had large weddings before (up to 120) people and for our vision there would be no problem.
We generated a family-style meal that included our favorite dishes to be served. Merrimack Flower Shop provided the flowers for the entire wedding including centerpieces for the reception. Get Down Tonight provided spectacular music for our enjoyment. Grace Limousine provided transportation to the church and reception. Eric Schneider and Blane Bryan provided photography and videographer services.
Our wedding was at 10 a.m. at Wheeler Chapel in Merrimack and the reception began at 11 a.m. (the restaurant opens to the public at 5 p.m. on Saturday) and actually had enough space to utilize the upper seating area as our dance floor and to display our wedding cake. The food was amazing as usual and the staff was courteous and attention to detail was spectacular.
It’s nice to know of a restaurant that can provide such a wonderful service locally that brings a piece of Italy to Merrimack. Who would think about a restaurant in a strip mall-type setting could provide such a wonderful atmosphere and flair for a wedding?
I just want to give five stars to a local restaurant that provided a great venue to celebrate our wedding.
