Musicians wanted for band, chorus
Friday, January 27, 2012
Merrimack Concert Association, always seeking new members, extends an invitation to amateur and professional adult musicians, as well as high school students, to join the concert band and chorus.
Rehearsals for the May 12 Spring Concert will resume in February. If you play a band instrument or enjoy choral singing, this is a great opportunity to sharpen your skills and have fun, as well. Membership in either Merrimack Concert Band or Merrimack Chorus will introduce you to a group of dedicated musicians who enjoy the artistic, recreational, and educational experience of performing a wide variety of instrumental and vocal music for their family, friends and community. Auditions are not required.
Starting on Feb. 7, Merrimack Concert Band will meet Tuesdays from 7:30-9:30 p.m. in the Merrimack Middle School band room. Band members are required to provide their own instrument. For further details, call Band Director Lelia Dutton at 429-8328.
Merrimack Chorus resumes rehearsals at the John O’Leary Adult Community Center at 2 p.m. Feb. 5, Super Bowl Sunday. In consideration of that event, rehearsal will be at 2 p.m. but will commence at 7 p.m. thereafter. Contact Choral Director Jamie Saucier at 828-6739 for more information.
To learn more about the concert schedule, purchasing tickets or joining the band or chorus, call Merrimack Concert Association Executive Director Laurie Ludvigsen at 424-0558, e-mail at info@merrimackconcert.org, or visit www.merrimackconcert.org.
