If you’re a poet, let library know it

The Merrimack Public Library is accepting entries to its 11th annual Poetry Contest from now through March 16.
Anyone who writes poetry may submit up to three original, previously unpublished poems. First-, second-, and third-place prizes will be awarded in each of three age categories: Adult ages 19 and up, Teen 13-18 years, and Youth up to age 12.
A special recognition for Merrimack residents will also be awarded in each age category. Winners will be announced and all participants will be given a chance to read their work at an Awards Night at the Library on Tuesday, April 17 at 6:30 p.m.
Complete rules and entry forms are available at the Library’s Circulation Desk and on the library’s website at www.merrimack.lib.nh.us/news/poetry2012.shtml. The Merrimack Public Library is located at 470 Daniel Webster Highway.
