Living history at the library

On Feb. 21, a living history presentation, “A Visit with Abraham Lincoln,” will be featured in coordination the joint sponsorship of the Merrimack Historical Society and the Merrimack Public Library, and through a grant from the New Hampshire Humanities Council.
Steve Woods will include anecdotes from Lincoln’s visit to New Hampshire, stories of his early life, campaign debates and the Civil War that followed his election to the presidency.
Woods has been doing portrayals of the President Lincoln since 1995, and has been featured on WMUR’s “Chronicle” several times. The program is open to the public at no charge and refreshments will be served.
The program will begin at 7 p.m., and will be preceded by a short business meeting of the Historical Society at 6:30 p.m.
Preregistration are requested through the Merrimack Public Library.
