Lynette Anne Ibbett, 52 of Merrimack died Sunday May 30, 2010, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston after a courageous battle with cancer.

Mrs. Ibbett was born August 7, 1957, in Woolwich, London, England, and was the daughter of the late Michael and Jean (Kemp) Pinder. She was raised and educated in England, and immigrated to the United States 30 years ago. She had been a resident of Merrimack for the past 26 years.

Lynette was a baker, and had been employed by Shaw’s in their North Merrimack Supermarket for 20 years. During that time she was also recognized as the North East Region Employee of the Year, an honor of which she was very proud. She will forever be remembered for her welcoming smile, contagious optimism and thoughtfulness for others.

In addition to her mother Jean Pinder, of England, members of the family include her husband of nearly 34 yrs., Jimi Ibbett of Merrimack; a daughter and son-in-law, Cherilyn & Justin Jasper of Milford; a brother, Conrad Pinder of England; and two sisters, Cheryl Walking of England and Travena Howard of New Zealand; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

A reception will be held in her honor Saturday June 5 from 10am to 12pm at the George R. Rivet Funeral Home, 425 Daniel Webster Highway, Merrimack, and will be followed by a Celebration of her life at 12pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her honor to the “MGH Thoracic Cancer Research Fund in memory of Lynette Ibbett,” MGH Development Office, 165 Cambridge Street, Boston, MA 02114.
