Evan Holland Garcelon, 29, of Merrimack, NH died Saturday Jan. 29, 2011. Evan loved music, movies, the outdoors and had a connection with animals, especially reptiles, which were a passion for him. His body was a canvas of skulls and colored tattoos that were acquired throughout the country. He was often stopped as people admired the work and vivid colors. He loved to hike, camp, fish and go on audacious expeditions. Many an adventure was had in NH, AZ, CA and even Katmandu. Wherever he traveled he made friends with a flash of his smile, the sparkle in his blue eyes, and his ever engaging conversation. You could count on him to give you the shirt off his back, and lend a hand when needed. You would think the song “I’m no angel” was written about him, but whatever mischief he engaged in or dark sides that occasionally surfaced, above all he was a kind, considerate and loveable person whom we were all fortunate to have known. His long standing fight with the demons of addiction took its toll on him throughout the years, and in the end it proved to be one of the few things stronger than Evan. Survived by his loving parents, Susan Garcelon of Nashua, Stephen Garcelon of Merrimack, sister Ashleigh Elizabeth Garcelon of Milford, brother Joshua Ian Dark of Flagstaff AZ, brother Gabriel Christen Dark of Peterborough, grandparents William and Norma Jefferson of Yarmouth Port MA, along with countless caring, loving and devoted friends that walked with him throughout his life. In lieu of flowers the family asks that assistance (donation, supplies, time, energy) be given to addiction recovery programs. A celebration of his life will be held Friday at the Rivet Funeral Home & Crematorium, 425 DW Highway, Merrimack NH 603-424-5530, from 6:00 and 8:00 PM.
