Friends of Marguerite’s Place kick off year
Friday, January 27, 2012
Pamme Boutselis
The Friends of Marguerite’s Place is ready to kick off an exciting new year of support for Marguerite’s Place Inc., with a lot of great initiatives in the works to raise funds and awareness for the Nashua nonprofit. There are plenty of opportunities to lend a hand with service projects currently in the works and the Friends always welcome new members.
The Friends have begun a three-month long fundraiser with The Stocked Fridge in Milford and Merrimack. Simply order delicious meals-to-go online or in person at the store and indicate that you would like to support Marguerite’s Place during January, February or March. Visit www.thestockedfridge.com to learn more, or contact friendsofmargueritesplace@gmail.com with any questions you may have. The Stocked Fridge is located at 704 Milford Road (Route 101A) in Merrimack, or at 99 Union Square (on the Milford Oval) in Milford.
The Friends will be creating Valentine’s Day baskets for the moms who reside at Marguerite’s Place, assisting with plans for the nonprofit’s annual Jazz & Juice event at Nashua Country Club on April 13 and hosting a hearty “Countdown to St. Paddy’s Day” pancake breakfast on Sunday, March 11 at Immaculate Conception Parish Hall in Nashua.
There’s far more in the works beyond the first quarter and we invite anyone with an interest in volunteering their time, lending their talents and learning more about Marguerite’s Place, Inc. in Nashua and its programs for homeless women in crisis and their children to come to the next Friends meeting on the third Tuesday of each month (Feb. 21) at Immaculate Conception Education Center, located at 216 E. Dunstable Road in Nashua.
