CROSS COUNTRY
Calvino leads Iona
Freshman Lauren Calvino helped lead the Iona College women’s cross country team to an ECAC Championship. Calvino finished sixth overall with a time of 17:56.
She was less than two seconds behind the fifth place competitor and 27 seconds behind the individual champion, Katie Harman from James Madison.
HIGH SCHOOL
Equipment drive
Rebecca Jolly, a Merrimack High School senior, will be holding a sports equipment drive, to collect shin guards, gloves, cleats, bats, etc., to donate to the Merrimack Youth Association. The event will run from Dec. 5-9 at the high school. Students are encouraged to bring equipment to the stage in the cafeteria, and there will also be a box in the athletic director’s office.
Merrimack looking for coach

BASEBALL
Post 98 to hold meeting
The Post 98 Merrimack Amerinca Legion baseball program will be holding a meeting on Dec. 11 at 6 p.m. (after the Patriots game) to discuss changes and the 2012 season. All players (U19) and parents that are interested in participating in 2012 must attend.
In 2011, the Post 98 Junior Legion baseball program was crowned state champions and competed at the American Legion regional tournament in New Bedford, Mass. The program is looking to continue its success in the 2012 season.

Dodgers looking for pitchers
The Merrimack Dodgers of the Granite State Over-30 Baseball League are looking for pitchers for the 2012 baseball season.
