Bedford Garden Club’s annual spring plant sale to be held May 24

Hundreds of locally grown plants will be offered for sale at the Bedford Garden Club’s annual Plant Sale, from 9-11 a.m. Saturday, May 24, at the Bedford Town Hall, 10 Meetinghouse Road.

This is a great opportunity to stock up on hardy plants suitable for the local area.

A wide variety of plants from both Garden Club members and a local greenhouse will be available.

Selections will include:

• Perennials for sun and shade

• Herbs

• Biennials

• Shrubs

• Succulents

• Ground covers

• Container plantings

• Annuals

• Vegetables

Master Gardeners will be on-hand to answer questions about plant varieties and growing conditions.

This is the club’s major fundraising event of the year. Proceeds from this sale will help to fund and maintain community gardens.

These include gardens at:

• Burleigh Triangle

• Chandler Road Water Trough

• Bedford town signs on Route 101

• Bedford Center Road

• Memorial Tree at Church Road

• Bedford Public Library

• Town Hall urns

• Town Offices

• The Bedford Village Common

The Garden Club has been serving the Bedford community for 79 years. The club provides education in horticulture, conservation, and gardening matters and creates and maintains community gardens throughout the town.
