Bedford seeks patrol officer candidates
An eligibility list to fill the position of patrol officer in the Bedford Police Department is being compiled at the town offices’ Human Resources Department, 24 North Amherst Road.
The Bedford Police Department, known for its community-based policing activities, has generated a longstanding partnership with the residents of Bedford and citizens elsewhere.
The support of this community-policing mandate may call for the addition of career-minded, community-oriented personnel. They must appreciate that they are becoming an important part of a professional and progressive department.
Applicants will be required to meet minimum qualifications for certification, as set by the New Hampshire Police Standards and Training Council. Those who already are police officers certified in New Hampshire or those who have taken the Great Bay Community College exam or the New Hampshire Technical Institute Police examination are encouraged to apply.
The Bedford Police Department requires that applicants be effective communicators, adept at effective oral communications and comfortable with written communications.
The ability to understand and execute administrative directions and to share effectively a workplace populated by law enforcement officials, fellow officers, administrative personnel and volunteers is required.
The salary range for this employment is reported on the website, and spans an income level of $43,850 to $65,672.
