ONLINE ACCESS TO MOVIES, MUSIC

The Bedford Public Library now has public availability to thousands of movies, television shows, music albums and audiobooks, all available for mobile and online access through a new partnership with hoopla digital. Bedford card holders can download the free hoopla digital app on their Android or IOS device or visit hoopladigital.com to begin enjoying thousands of titles.

THURSDAY THEATER IN THE LIBRARY

Come to the library on the second Thursday of the month to watch a recent movie on the big screen. There are two showings: 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. Popcorn will be provided. Free. Registration required. Children younger than 13 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

SCRABBLE, ANYONE?

Join other word game enthusiasts at 7 p.m. on the second Wednesday of the month.

ONLINE LANGUAGE LEARNING

Transparent Language Online is available through the library’s website. Use audio and visual tools to learn a language of choice. Transparent Language also has a language and culture blog.

E-BOOK SERVICE

The 3M Cloud Library includes the latest best-sellers for kids, teens and adults, as well as a selection of nonfiction which your librarians have chosen for you. The service can be searched through the library’s online catalog, where you can check out or hold a title. Then, open the 3M Cloud Library app on a reader, tablet, computer or smart phone and the book is available.

E-BOOKS FOR KIDS

"E-Books for e-Kids" has animated talking picture books, including books to learn French, Spanish and other languages. plus puzzles and games.

ADOBE LIGHTROOM

Learn about the basics of Lightroom, the digital photo editing software from Adobe, in a workshop held 7:30 p.m. Aug. 24 in the Lowell Room. In this interactive demonstration, we will learn how to capture photos, import them from our camera, organize them on our computer, and do minor touch-ups and editing. Presented by the Michael Loverme Memorial Foundation. Registration required.

CRIBBAGE, ANYONE?

If you’d like to play or learn to play cribbage, drop in from 2-3 p.m. Mondays. This friendly group meets weekly in the Lowell Room upstairs.

ONGOING ADULT PROGRAMS

The Merrimack Public Library offers Knit, Stitch or Crochet from 7-8:30 p.m. Thursdays; drop-in tech help (make an appointment with a librarian); a monthly book discussion group that meets at 7 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month; a music catalog; an online newsstand; and Kindle library books. The Merrimack Public library and Merrymac Games & Comics bring you a Dungeons & Dragons gaming night from 7-8:30 p.m. every Wednesday. Join other gamers for a fun-filled evening. No registration required.
