Historical Society tour set
The Bedford Historical Society will hold a self-guided tour of Bedford’s old houses, barns, cemeteries and sites of historical interest as a major fundraising event on Saturday, September 19 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. At the present time there are 24 sites that can be visited as part of the tour. Included in that are seven homes that will be open, and six additional locations where there will be information about the homes and people can walk around the property (but not inside the homes). There are also six businesses that are located in antique buildings where people are welcome to look inside and out. The tour will also contain information about a number of historical points of interest around town that people can visit on the tour.
The tour will originate at Schoolhouse 7 at 24 North Amherst Road where participants can pick up their "Bedford Town Tour Guide." Tickets are $30 on the day of the tour, $25 for advance sales (last day available is Sept. 18), and $20 for Bedford Historical Society members. Tickets are currently available at www.bedfordhistoricalsociety.org, or at Schoolhouse 7 on Wednesday mornings. Tickets will also be available at the Craftworkers’ Guild behind the Library on Sept. 18 only.
