TD Bank aids Historical Society
BEDFORD – As part of its "Bring Change" campaign, a local TD Bank’s Penny Arcade will serve as a designated hub to support the Bedford Historical Society.
On Friday, Sept. 25, TD Bank is inviting people to participate in a community coin counting event and fundraiser. TD will match up to $2,000 in coins counted and donate it to the Society.
With 500 events planned through February, the program promises to raise more than $1 million in support of local organizations.
The Bedford Historical Society is in the process of transforming the former Stevens-Buswell School into the Stevens-Buswell Community Center, which will bring a much needed meeting space to the historic Bedford Town Center. Once completed, the space will provide a gathering space for seniors, veterans, teens, moms and tots, community events, exercise classes, meeting spaces, recreation programs, concerts, social functions and other learning opportunities.
After serving as the town offices, police station and Marconi Museum, the building was threatened with demolition. The Bedford Historical Society leased the building in order to rehabilitate it for use as a community center that will benefit all residents.
The coin counting will be held from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m. at TD Bank, 184 Route 101. The check presentation will be held from 4:30-5 p.m. that day at the Stevens-Buswell Community Center, 18 North Amherst Road.
Please join the community and our customers for a coin counting and check presentation.
