BWC to host personal shoppers

Personal shoppers and stylists Michelle O’Rourke and Donna Potterfield, of Bedford, will be showcasing their services to the Bedford Woman’s Club from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22, at Fellowship Hall at the Bedford Presbyterian Church. O’Rourke and Potterfield provide style consultations and personal shopping services to women who are looking to refresh their wardrobe or find an outfit for a special occasion.

O’Rourke, a former clothing buyer for a department store, and Potterfield, a landscape painter, began their business "Toots Personal Shoppers and Stylists" in February 2012. The friends were motivated by their shared love of fashion and their desire to help women feel confident and comfortable in their clothes. The business quickly took off, and in additional to providing personal shopping and style consultations, they launched seasonal "pop-up shops" around Bedford and Manchester.

At the Bedford Woman’s Club, O’Rourke and Potterfield will walk through the styling and shopping process they applied to a club member who is a client and share tips and advice to the group.

On Saturday, Oct. 24, BWC will celebrate its 110th year with a Harvest Square Dance Social at the St. Elizabeth Seton Activities Center from 6-9 p.m. Tickets are $15 per person and must be reserved in advance by contacting Kathleen McMillan at or calling 488-5083. The ticket deadline is Monday, Oct. 19.

The Bedford Women’s Club is open to women who are interested in fostering social and cultural relationships as well as providing scholarships and charitable contributions.
