Teehan named executive director for music school
MANCHESTER – The Manchester Community Music School has appointed Judy Teehan as its new executive director.
Teehan has been at the school for 11 years in various capacities, most recently as the director of education. She also teaches Suzuki flute, and performs with the Infinities Ensemble.
"I know what this school has to offer from all sides of the box. My longevity with MCMS has given me time to know the community we serve, the schools, teachers, students and programs. I am very excited to have been chosen to lead the school forward." Teehan said.
She succeeds Billie Tooley, who resigned in September for personal and family reasons.
"We appreciate Billie’s committed and dedicated leadership to the school while she was here," said Dan Scanlon, chairman of the board of directors, "and look forward to Judy’s transition from director of education to executive director. We believe that she has a unique perspective on the future of the school, having had the opportunity to observe the school’s operations first-hand."
Teehan’s appointment is effective immediately.
