Women’s Club to prepare for healthy holiday entertaining
Just in time for the Thanksgiving and winter holidays, when wonderful and tempting dishes abound, professional chef and cooking instructor Liz Barbour will present a slide show and discussion, "Healthy Holiday Entertaining," during the Women’s Club 11:30 a.m. meeting on Thursday, Nov. 19, at the Bedford Presbyterian Church Fellowship Hall.
Barbour will share her experience teaching others how to enjoy cooking in a way that fits into their lifestyle. Recipes that can be prepared ahead, others that can be prepared at the last minute, and the art of tweaking purchased items will all be included in the discussion.
The club is open to women who are interested in fostering social and cultural relationships as well as providing scholarships and charitable contributions. Active Membership is a category appropriate for women who can attend midday meetings. Associate Membership is a category available to women whose commitments prevent them from attending monthly meetings. Associate members may participate in club interest groups and serve on committees.
Established in 1905, the Bedford Women’s Club provides an opportunity for newcomers to the area, as well as established residents, to meet socially and pursue many interests. General membership meetings are held on the fourth Thursday of each month from September through May unless otherwise designated.
