Friends of library to host annual pie sale

The Friends of the Bedford Library will hold their annual pie and baked goods sale in the foyer of the library from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday, Nov. 21.

The Friends holds two fundraisers each year; the Thanksgiving Pie Sale, and the Kids Road Race, held in conjunction with the Bedford Rotary’s Road Race in May. All the proceeds from these two fundraisers are used by the library to purchase items that are not included in its annual operating budget, such as filament for the Maker Bot 3D printer and passes to the New England Aquarium.

The Friends will have Ms. Lorraine Brooks’ Advisory Class from Bedford High School baking apple pies this year. Brooks teaches cooking at the high school. All bakers are welcome to bake for this event. Donated goods can be dropped off starting at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, in the foyer of the library.

To learn more about the Friends, join them at the next meeting at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 8, in the New Hampshire Room. After making your purchase, stop by the McAllister and Richmond Rooms downstairs in the library as the Boomers Model Railroad Club will have their working trains on display.
