Garden Club offers flower art in January

Beautiful, fresh flowers will be on hand for the Bedford Garden Club’s first meeting in the New Year.

On Jan. 18, the club will offer a workshop on floral design with Richard Mein, designer and owner of Royal Bouquet Florist in Bedford (www.royalbouquet.net). Mein will demonstrate techniques of floral art and help participants create an arrangement to take home.

The meeting will begin with a 9:30 a.m. social at Bedford’s historic Town Hall, 10 Meetinghouse Road, followed by a brief business meeting at 10 a.m. At 10:30 a.m., Mein’s presentation will begin.

Garden Club members and guests will have two options: to watch and learn, or follow step-by-step directions to create their own arrangement.

For those wishing to create "flower art", the cost of all supplies is $25 per person which includes a container, flowers and floral material. Participants should pre-pay by Jan. 15 with a check payable to the Bedford Garden Club and mailed to Trish O’Loughlin, 45 Camelot Drive, Bedford, 03110.

The Bedford Garden Club is committed to stimulating an interest in knowledge and love of gardening.
