Garden club meeting
At the Feb. 15 meeting of the Bedford Garden Club, Margaret Hagen, food and agriculture field specialist at the University of New Hampshire Cooperative Extension, will discuss how to adapt just about any space or container to grow fresh vegetables for your summer table.
She will discuss growing systems, container types, soil mixes, growing techniques, varieties for small spaces, and resources for more information.
As director of the Family, Home and Garden Education Center, Hagen is responsible for providing education and information to the public over the breadth of Extension programs. She is a co-author of "The Best Plants for New Hampshire Gardens and Landscapes."
The meeting will take place in the greenhouse of Bedford Fields Garden Center at 331 Route 101. The meeting begins at 9:30 a.m. with a social; a business meeting will follow at 10. Hagen’s program will begin at 10:30.
