Online hunter education course launched

CONCORD – The New Hampshire Fish and Game Department has launched a new online hunter education course that offers a virtual field day experience.

The course at www.huntercourse.com/usa/newhampshire is available to hunters 15 and older.

"With HunterCourse.com, we have built a world-class online hunter education program for New Hampshire," said Josh Mackay, New Hampshire Fish and Game’s hunter education coordinator. "HunterCourse.com is an engaging, interactive course, and is the first online program to offer a virtual field day, which will help students obtain valuable experience ahead of the live field day and before heading into the field."

The course is fully illustrated and narrated, with interactive animations to test knowledge and live videos that put students right in the field. After completing the course and passing a final online exam, students receive a field day voucher, which provides access to a live field day course. Passing the live field day is the last step in certification.

Students may register and study the material without charge, but they must pay a $29 fee after passing the online course in order to print out the required voucher.

New Hampshire Fish and Game has offered online hunter education courses since 2010, and interest is growing. In 2015, about 49 percent of the 3,267 students certified by the hunter education program in New Hampshire studied course materials online.
