Bedford Friends of Recreation lost to NH Eye Associates 14-2 with Kate Mikol scoring the only field goal for BFOR. Emmy Neal returned with a great defensive effort and Emily Lyon and Elif Cakir played well at the low post.
Mega X 18, Dental Arts 2
Mega X topped Dental Arts of Bedford, 18-2, in a pre-Valentines Day basketball battle. Victoria Manniello was an offensive machine, scoring 10 of Mega-X’s 18. She credits the Minions for her great day. Rachel Krause added two points and two key steals. Lauren Redfern controlled the ball well and added two.
Outstanding defense for Dental Arts was led by Natalie Denon as well as Elena Doughty.
Anika Scott showed great speed and ball handling as well as some sweet passes and assists.
In a total team effort for Cohen Investment Advisors, Claire, Alayna, Erin & Skylar scored 4 points each while MacKenzie, Kate, Deeya & Rishika provided concentrated defense in the wrap of the regular season.
Kelly Interior Painting couldn’t buy a basket for the first 20 minutes but Delaney Goterch and Izzy Spain dropped in 7 apiece and Lily Grande added 2 points in a frantic second half of play. KIP took a 2 point lead on a 10 foot jumper from Spain with a minute to play but Cohen quickly tied it up. Both teams had an opportunity to steal the game in the final 50 seconds but came up empty.
Leading SGC with excellent play, Julia Asadourian came out on top with 6 points while Thea Sarajlic scored 4. Kendal Joyce and Elizabeth Chopra were tight on defense only letting up a total of 5 points. Elizabeth and Elise Piotrowski each scored a basket on a fast break steal. All the girls did a fantastic job working as a team.
Sports Authority 12
Bedford Athletic Club finished up its regular season with a win over a strong Sports Authority team. Anna Caldwell led BAC scoring with 10 points. The entire team rebounded well and played strong defense to secure the win.
Team Sports Authority showed continued improvement in all areas of the game despite closing the season with a loss.
Molly Crowder set the standard in defense and chipped in two points. Lindsay Mello was a standout rebounder and showed great vision with several excellent passes.
In a nail biter Snapdragon Associates edged out BAP Personal Training 16-15. BAP was led this week by Amelia Edwards scoring and smothering defense while Caroline Rankins put back 4 points and Liz Silha was making things happen offensively and defensively all over the court.
Bedford Friends of Recreation 13, Nail Indulgence 10
In a very close game Bedford Friends of Recreation outlasted Nail Indulgence 13 to 10. Abbey Gilligan’s sharp outside shooting led BFOR with a team high 5 points while Morgan Koellmer made big contributions on both ends of the court. Samara Vu, Meghan Thornton, and Emma Fournier all played super in a losing effort.
