Applications being accepted for Citizens Police Academy

BEDFORD – The Bedford Police Department is accepting applications for its 2016 Citizens Police Academy.

The academy is designed to provide Bedford residents with a comprehensive perspective of the department’s police services from the inside. Participants will be exposed to virtually every aspect of police work, such as patrol operations and criminal investigations, including forensic and crime scene investigative techniques.

There is no cost to attend the academy. It is open to all Bedford residents 18 and older, as well as Bedford business owners. Classes will begin Tuesday, March 22, and continue each Tuesday from 6:30-9:30 p.m. for 10 weeks at the Bedford Police Department training room, 55 Constitution Drive. Applicants are required to attend a minimum of eight of the 10 classes.

Applications must be submitted by Friday, March 11. They are available at
