Bedford Historical Society program
The Bedford Historical Society will host a program by Randy Barnhard on the Manchester Milford Railroad at 7 p.m., April 6, at the Bedford Public Library, 3 Meetinghouse Road. A business meeting and refreshments will be at 6:30 p.m.
Barnhart will discuss the Manchester Milford Railroad, which ran through Bedford. The old railbed was used as the basis for Route 101 in our town. His question is: Where would Route 101 have been built had there not been a right of way created by the railroad?
Barnhart moved to Bedford in 1990 and has an interest in local history, particularly the railroad that operated in the early 1900’s. He is VP/GM of Southern Wine & Spirits of New England.
