Women’s club celebrates donations
During its annual Spring Luncheon held May 19, the Bedford Women’s Club celebrated its charitable donations to organizations which impact Bedford residents. It also installed the 2016-17 officers and directors.
Mary Ann Senatro, director of the Bedford Library, thanked the BWC for making a donation which will allow the library to purchase a pass to the New England Aquarium for the 2016-17 year. Other charities to receive checks were: Friends of the Town of Bedford Cemeteries; St. Joseph Community Resources for its Meals on Wheels Support Services; Upreach Therapeutic Equestrian Center; Liberty House; Stand By Me; the Bedford Historical Society.
The Scholarship Committee will award five Josephine Fearon Scholarships to residents of Bedford, Class of 2016. Two non-traditional students will also receive scholarships.
Outgoing co-presidents Bobbie Fairman and Eileen Kane expressed appreciation to the officers, directors and chairs who make the work of the BWC happen. After the installation of the new officers and directors, the outgoing co-presidents passed the gavel to Gen Miller and Kathleen McMillan "to maintain order in the spirit of friendship and fun."
