Art show, silent auction at Bethany Covenant Church
Reflecting the talented community of Bedford, an inaugural art show/silent auction will be held on Saturday, June 18, from 3-5 p.m., at Bethany Covenant Church. This is a community event organized by the church to showcase the diversity of our local artists.
More than 30 artists have donated their pieces of fine art. Art includes acrylic, pen, color pencil, watercolors, wood, collage, and photography. Several pieces highlight local landscapes. Sales of art will go towards the general development fund of the church.
The Bethany Art Committee is excited to display four paintings by Suzanne Young, a graduate of the School of Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. Suzanne is most noted as a plein-air artist, working on location in coastal Maine to capture the movement and energy of the environment. Her paintings have appeared in numerous juried shows and galleries.
"Most of the time people come to a local art show out of curiosity, but don’t know the questions to ask," explains Brigitte Magoun, committee chair. At the Bethany Art Show, each piece will have an information card drawing attention to the background of the artist, their inspiration, and experience.
All ages are welcome to attend. There will be drawing activities for children, desserts, and music. The silent auction will end at 5 p.m.
